Equivalent freely jointed chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004078
A theoretical model representing a real polymer chain as a series of rigid segments connected by freely rotating joints. This model simplifies the complex conformational behavior of a polymer by assuming no correlation between the directions of adjacent segments. It is used to calculate statistical properties such as the mean-square end-to-end distance of a polymer.
