Mean-square end-to-end distance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007084

The average of the square of the distance between the two ends of a polymer chain, averaged over all possible conformations. This value provides a measure of the overall size and spatial extent of a polymer coil. For an ideal random coil, it is proportional to the number of statistical segments.
