Mean-square unperturbed end-to-end distance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007087

The average of the square of the distance between the ends of a polymer chain in a theta solvent, where polymer-solvent and polymer-polymer interactions effectively cancel out. This value represents the intrinsic size of the polymer chain in the absence of long-range excluded volume effects. It is a characteristic property of the polymer chain architecture.
