Unperturbed end-to-end vector

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012449

A vector connecting the two ends of a polymer chain when it is in an unperturbed conformational state, such as in a theta solvent. This vector describes the displacement between the chain termini under conditions where long-range interactions are effectively cancelled. Its mean-square magnitude is the unperturbed mean-square end-to-end distance.
