Root-mean-square unperturbed radius of gyration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010409
The average size of a polymer coil in an ideal theta solvent, where excluded volume effects are negligible. This parameter reflects the intrinsic dimensions of the polymer chain, determined by its local structure and short-range interactions, without expansion or contraction due to solvent quality. It is a key characteristic for understanding polymer conformation in the absence of long-range interactions.
