Unperturbed radius of gyration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012450

The radius of gyration of a polymer chain when it is in an unperturbed conformational state, typically in a theta solvent. This value represents the root-mean-square distance of the chain segments from its center of mass, under conditions where excluded volume effects are absent. It is a fundamental measure of the size of an ideal random coil polymer.
