Lactation

The physiological process of producing and secreting milk from the mammary glands, which occurs in female mammals after childbirth. This process is regulated by a complex interplay of hormones, primarily prolactin and oxytocin. Milk provides essential nutrients and antibodies for the neonate's growth and development.
