Larvicide
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006449
A chemical agent specifically designed to kill insect larvae, particularly those of mosquitoes and other disease vectors. These substances are applied to water bodies or breeding sites where larvae develop, preventing them from maturing into adult insects. Common larvicides include insect growth regulators, bacterial toxins like Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, and organophosphates.
