Life history

The sequence of events related to survival and reproduction that an organism experiences from birth to death. This includes key traits such as age and size at sexual maturity, number and size of offspring, and lifespan. Life history strategies are shaped by natural selection and can be altered by environmental stressors, including exposure to toxic chemicals.
