Linearity of responsivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006638
The property of a radiation detector by which its electrical output rises in strict proportion to the radiant power reaching it, across a stated range of power, so that twice the power gives twice the signal. Departures from this behavior appear at very low power, where noise and dark current dominate, and at very high power, where the detector saturates. Responsivity itself is the output signal per unit of incident radiant power, for example amperes per watt for a photodiode.
