Liquid-crystal dendrimer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006687

A highly branched molecule of dendritic structure that contains mesogenic groups and can form one or more liquid-crystalline mesophases. The mesogens may sit in the core, along the branches or at the periphery. The mesophase turns into an isotropic liquid at the clearing temperature, which lies above the temperature where the solid melts or softens into the mesophase.
