Liquid-crystal polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006688
A polymer that can form ordered liquid-crystalline phases either in solution (lyotropic) or upon heating (thermotropic). These polymers contain rigid, rod-like or disc-like mesogenic units within their backbone or as side chains. Their ability to self-organize into ordered structures gives them exceptional mechanical strength and thermal stability.
