Liquid-crystalline polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006692
A polymer that can form a liquid-crystalline phase, either in solution (lyotropic) or upon heating (thermotropic). These macromolecules typically contain rigid, anisotropic segments that align spontaneously, leading to ordered structures. Such polymers are used in applications requiring high strength, stiffness, and thermal stability, such as in advanced composites or electronic displays.
