Enantiotropic mesophase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003873
A liquid crystalline phase that is stable over a defined temperature range and can be reached reversibly from both the isotropic liquid phase upon cooling and the solid crystalline phase upon heating. This type of mesophase exhibits long-range orientational order but lacks the full positional order of a solid. Many thermotropic liquid crystal polymers display enantiotropic behavior.
