Lithometeor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006704

A meteor consisting of solid, non-aqueous particles suspended in or falling through the atmosphere. These particles are lifted from the ground by wind and include substances like dust, sand, smoke, and haze. Unlike a hydrometeor, which is composed of liquid or solid water, a lithometeor's composition is primarily mineral or combustion-derived particulate matter.
