Lotion

A liquid or semi-liquid pharmaceutical preparation intended for external application to the skin. It is formulated as an aqueous solution, suspension, or emulsion with a low to medium viscosity, allowing it to be applied without friction. Lotions are used to deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients for local effects, such as soothing, cooling, or antiseptic actions, or for transdermal absorption.
