Liniment

A liquid or semi-liquid pharmaceutical preparation intended for application to the skin with friction and rubbing. Liniments are typically solutions, emulsions, or suspensions containing one or more active ingredients in an oily, alcoholic, or aqueous vehicle. Unlike lotions, which are gently applied, liniments are massaged into the skin to relieve pain, stiffness, or inflammation.
