Disperse system

A heterogeneous system consisting of one phase finely distributed as particles or droplets throughout another continuous phase. The dispersed phase can be solid, liquid, or gas, and the continuous phase can also be any of these states. Examples include emulsions, suspensions, and aerosols, which are common in pharmaceutical formulations.
