Dispersion medium
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003303
The continuous phase in a dispersed system, within which particles or droplets of another substance are distributed. This medium surrounds and separates the individual components of the dispersed phase. In polymer chemistry, it is often the liquid in which polymer particles are suspended during polymerization.
