Low-specificity sorbents

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006795

Materials that bind to a broad range of analytes without strong selectivity for any particular chemical structure. These sorbents interact with compounds primarily through general physical forces, such as van der Waals interactions or hydrophobic effects. They are often employed in sample preparation for initial analyte enrichment from complex matrices.
