Macroscopic pathology

The study of disease at a level visible to the unaided eye, focusing on changes in the size, shape, color, and texture of organs and tissues. This examination provides initial insights into the nature and extent of a disease process before microscopic analysis. It is a fundamental step in post-mortem examinations and surgical pathology.
