Mania

A mental state characterized by an elevated, expansive, or irritable mood, often accompanied by increased energy, decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, and impulsive behavior. It is a core feature of bipolar disorder, where it alternates with periods of depression. This condition can significantly impair social and occupational functioning, requiring medical intervention.
