Matrix formulation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007030
A pharmaceutical dosage form where the active pharmaceutical ingredient is dispersed uniformly within a polymeric or lipidic matrix. This design controls the rate of drug release over an extended period, providing sustained therapeutic effects. The drug diffuses out of the matrix or is released as the matrix erodes.
