Mean mass range
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007076
The average mass per unit area traversed by a charged particle in a medium before it comes to rest. This value accounts for the density of the material, providing a more fundamental measure of stopping power than linear range. It is expressed in units such as milligrams per square centimeter.
