Projected range
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009529
The average distance an ion travels into a material along its initial direction of incidence before coming to rest. This value is distinct from the total range, which is the total path length traversed by the ion. Projected range is a key parameter in ion implantation and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry.
