Microstomia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007363
A congenital or acquired condition characterized by an abnormally small mouth opening. This reduction in the size of the oral aperture can restrict jaw movement, making eating, speaking, and maintaining oral hygiene difficult. While it can be a congenital defect, microstomia also occurs as a complication of facial burns, surgery, or systemic sclerosis.
