Selected-area aperture
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010668
A physical opening, typically circular, placed in the optical path of an electron microscope to define the region from which electrons are collected for analysis. This aperture allows for the examination of specific, localized areas of a sample. Its size and position determine the spatial resolution of the analysis.
