Selected reaction monitoring

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010667

A tandem mass spectrometry technique where a specific precursor ion is selected in the first mass analyzer, fragmented, and then a specific product ion from that fragmentation is monitored in the second mass analyzer. This method offers high sensitivity and selectivity for the quantification of target compounds in complex matrices. It is widely used in proteomics and metabolomics.
