Neutrino

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007913

An elementary subatomic particle with no electric charge and a very small, non-zero mass. As a lepton, it interacts only through the weak nuclear force and gravity, allowing it to pass through ordinary matter with extremely low probability of interaction. Neutrinos are produced in certain types of radioactive decay, such as beta decay, and in nuclear reactions that power stars.
