Non-calorimetric thermophysical measurements
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008006
Measurements of fluid properties that do not rely on measuring heat, mainly (p, V, T) measurements and saturated-density measurements, together with any others that give information on the pressure-volume-temperature surface of a fluid. Equations of state and derived quantities such as compressibility and thermal expansivity follow from such data. Calorimetric methods, by contrast, measure heat or heat capacity directly.
