Nuclear fusion reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008100
A nuclear process in which two or more light atomic nuclei combine to form a single, heavier nucleus, releasing a tremendous amount of energy. This reaction typically occurs under extremely high temperatures and pressures, such as those found in the cores of stars. An example is the fusion of deuterium and tritium to form helium.
