Orthokinetic coagulation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008342
The aggregation of colloidal particles in a flowing fluid due to collisions induced by the velocity gradients within the fluid. This process is distinct from perikinetic coagulation, which is driven by Brownian motion. The rate of orthokinetic coagulation is dependent on the shear rate and particle concentration.
