Pair attenuation coefficient
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008419
A measure of the probability that a photon will undergo pair production per unit thickness of a material. This coefficient quantifies the reduction in intensity of a photon beam due to the creation of an electron-positron pair. It is dependent on the photon energy and the atomic number of the absorbing material.
