Parametric processes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013373
Nonlinear optical phenomena where the properties of a medium are modulated by an intense pump beam, leading to the generation of new frequencies or amplification of existing ones. These processes involve the interaction of photons without energy loss to the medium. Examples include second harmonic generation and optical parametric oscillation.
