Parametric amplification
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013372
A process in which a signal is amplified by varying a parameter of the system at twice the signal frequency. In optics, this involves using a nonlinear optical medium to amplify a weak signal beam by transferring energy from a strong pump beam. This technique is used in optical parametric oscillators and amplifiers.
