Chemical amplification
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001935
A process in polymer chemistry where a single catalytic event, such as the generation of an acid, initiates a cascade of subsequent chemical reactions. This leads to a large change in the polymer's properties, such as solubility, for a small initial stimulus. It is widely employed in photoresist technology for microfabrication.
