Peripheral atom
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008646
An atom in a molecular structure that is not directly involved in the primary reaction center or the core framework of the molecule. These atoms are often located at the extremities of a molecule. Their presence can influence the overall reactivity or steric hindrance of the molecule.
