Persistent inorganic pollutant

An inorganic chemical substance that resists environmental degradation and remains in the environment for extended periods. These pollutants can accumulate in ecosystems and food chains, posing risks to human health and wildlife. Examples include heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium, which do not break down into less harmful substances.
