Air pollutant

Any substance in the air that can cause harm to humans, animals, vegetation, or materials, or that can interfere with visibility or the enjoyment of property. These substances can be primary, emitted directly from a source, or secondary, formed in the atmosphere through chemical reactions. Examples include carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds.
