Source term
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011064
A mathematical expression used in transport models to describe the rate at which a pollutant is released into the environment from a specific source. It quantifies the amount, type, and physicochemical properties of the substance being emitted over time and space. The source term is a required input parameter for models that predict the fate and transport of contaminants in air, water, or soil.
