Photodegradation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008841
The process by which a material undergoes chemical alteration or breakdown due to the absorption of light energy. This often involves bond cleavage, oxidation, or other reactions initiated by photons, leading to a loss of physical properties or structural integrity. The extent of photodegradation depends on factors such as light intensity, wavelength, and the chemical nature of the material.
