Predictive validity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009371
The extent to which a test or measurement accurately forecasts a future outcome or behavior. This type of validity is established by correlating the results of the test with a criterion measure obtained at a later time. For instance, the predictive validity of a diagnostic test is determined by its ability to accurately identify individuals who will develop a specific disease.
