Validity of a measurement

The extent to which a measurement procedure correctly assesses the specific property it is intended to measure. This concept evaluates how well the results of a measurement correspond to the true state or value of the quantity being investigated. For a measurement to be valid, it must be both accurate, meaning close to the true value, and precise, meaning reproducible.
