Validity

The extent to which a test method or study correctly measures the biological effect or endpoint it is designed to assess. It encompasses both the relevance of the test for its intended purpose and the reliability of the results it produces. Validity is distinct from precision, which describes the reproducibility of a measurement, whereas validity describes its accuracy in relation to the true value or phenomenon.
