Proteome
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009602
The entire set of proteins expressed by a cell, tissue, or organism at a particular time and under specific conditions. Unlike the genome, the proteome is dynamic and varies with cellular state, development, and environmental factors. Its study, known as proteomics, provides insights into biological functions and disease mechanisms.
