Psychomotor retardation

A noticeable slowing of thought processes and a reduction in physical movements, often observed as a symptom of depression or as a side effect of certain medications. It manifests as slowed speech, decreased movement, and impaired cognitive function. In developmental toxicology, this condition is assessed in offspring following prenatal or postnatal exposure to a substance to evaluate potential neurotoxic effects on motor and cognitive development.
