Push-pull conjugation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009689
A molecular arrangement where an electron-donating group and an electron-withdrawing group are connected through a conjugated pi-electron system. This creates a dipole moment and facilitates charge transfer across the molecule, influencing its electronic and optical properties. Such systems are often found in organic dyes and non-linear optical materials.
