Reversed direct-injection burner

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013501

A direct-injection burner in which the fuel gas, instead of the oxidant, is used to aspirate and nebulize the sample solution. A direct-injection burner combines the functions of nebulizer and burner, so the sample goes straight into the flame with no spray chamber. In the usual arrangement the oxidant is the aspirating gas, and the term reversed is applied only when the fuel takes that role.
