Reverse transcription
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010319
The process by which genetic information from an RNA template is transcribed into a complementary DNA (cDNA) molecule. This reaction is catalyzed by the enzyme reverse transcriptase. It is a fundamental process in retroviruses and is widely used in molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR.
