Rotational diffusion coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010424

A measure of the rate at which a molecule reorients itself due to random thermal motions in a fluid. This coefficient quantifies the average angular displacement per unit time for a rotating particle. It is inversely proportional to the rotational friction coefficient and is often determined through techniques like dynamic light scattering or nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
